  • What, if anything, makes a life a meaningful life?

Philosophers do not simply try to answer questions, they examine the questions themselves. Philosophy is the attempt to think clearly and precisely about the basic questions that we confront as individuals and as members of societies. The study of philosophy is exciting on its own terms and it provides students with critical, analytical abilities to succeed in many fields of professional and academic work, as well as a basis for leading a richer, more contemplative life.

The Philosophy faculty invite you to join them for casual conversations during their Orientation Open House at 9am on Friday, September 11 in Thornton Hall.
